Our 2023 rankings named University of Rochester the most popular school in the Middle Atlantic Region for music students working on their doctor’s degree. University of Rochester is a large private not-for-profit school located in the medium-sized city of Rochester.

About 43% of the students majoring in music at the school are women while 57% are male.

Stony Brook, NY

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Stony Brook University is a great place for music students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the suburb of Stony Brook, SUNY Stony Brook is a public school with a fairly large student population.

About 42% of the students majoring in music at the school are women while 58% are male.

Out of the 18 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, The Graduate Center, CUNY landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the large city of New York, The Graduate Center is a public college with a medium-sized student population.
