Our analysis looked at 104 schools in the United States to see which doctor's degree programs were the most popular for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Music program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named Michigan State University the most popular school in the United States for music students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the city of East Lansing, Michigan State is a public school with a very large student population.

About 58% of the students majoring in music at the school are women while 42% are male.

The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at University of Cincinnati - Main Campus helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular music schools in the United States. Located in the city of Cincinnati, UC is a public school with a fairly large student population.

Of the 52 students majoring in music at UC, 52% are male and 48% are female.
