To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from each school on the list.

Our analysis found Liberty University to be the most popular school for students who want to pursue a master’s degree in the Southeast Region . This large private not-for-profit school is located in Lynchburg, Virginia, and it awarded 10,231 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 60% were women.

University of South Florida - Main Campus is a large public school located in Tampa, Florida that handed out 3,539 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.

The excellent master’s degree programs at Florida International University helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular schools in the Southeast Region . FIU is located in Miami, Florida and has a large student population. In 2020-2021, this school awarded 3,536 master’s degrees to qualified students.
Around 60% of those degree recipients were women.

Cumberlands is a fairly large private not-for-profit school situated in Williamsburg, Kentucky. It awarded 3,053 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Of those students who received their degree, 55% were women.
One thing to take note of is that Cumberlands does offer online graduate classes in some areas. In fact, around 99% of the graduate population registered for at least one online class in 2019-2020.
George Mason University landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular master’s degree programs. GMU is a large public school situated in Fairfax, Virginia. It awarded 3,107 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.

Depending on your major, you may be able to take online graduate classes at GMU. In 2019-2020 about 87% of the graduate students at the school chose to take one or more online courses.
North Carolina State University came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. NC State is a large public school situated in Raleigh, North Carolina. It awarded 2,899 master’s degrees in 2020-2021.
Around 46% of those degree recipients were women.

With a ranking of #11, Campbellsville University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for students working on their master’s degree. Nova Southeastern University ranked #13 on this year’s Most Popular Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region list. Fort Lauderdale, Florida is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The private not-for-profit school handed out master’s degrees to 2,809 students in 2020-2021.
Around 76% of those degree recipients were women.

University of Central Florida came in at #14 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. Orlando, Florida is the setting for this large institution of higher learning. The public school handed out master’s degrees to 2,704 students in 2020-2021.
