As online education oppotunities continue to grow, you're not restricted to just schools in your local area anymore. Even some of the 'big name' schools are offering online courses. On top of that, there are a considerable number of trade schools and bootcamp that offer fast-track entry to many fields.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Grad Degree Search has created its Best Schools in the Plains States Region ranking. This report analyzed 112 schools in the Plains States Region to see which ones offered the best programs for students.

Saint Ambrose University ranked #11 on this year’s Best Schools in the Plains States Region list.
Winona State University ranked #12 on this year’s Best Schools in the Plains States Region list.
Stephens College landed the #13 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best programs.
Simpson College landed the #14 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best programs.
Minnesota State University - Mankato landed the #15 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best programs.
Valley City State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for students. It came in at #16 on the list.
With a ranking of #17, University of Mary did quite well on this year’s best schools for students working.
Iowa State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for students. It came in at #18 on the list.
University of Northern Iowa came in at #19 in this year’s edition of the Best Schools in the Plains States Region ranking.
Bethel University Minnesota ranked #20 on this year’s Best Schools in the Plains States Region list.
Creighton University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for students. It came in at #21 on the list.
College of Saint Mary did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for students. It came in at #22 on the list.
University of Minnesota - Twin Cities did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for students. It came in at #23 on the list.
Northern State University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best places for students. It came in at #24 on the list.
Loras College landed the #25 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best programs.
