Our 2023 rankings named University of Arizona the most popular school in the Southwest Region for physics students working on their master’s degree. Located in the city of Tucson, University of Arizona is a public school with a very large student population.

Women make up 30% of the physics majors at the school.

The in-demand master’s degree programs at Texas A&M University - Commerce helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular physics schools in the Southwest Region . Located in the distant town of Commerce, Texas A&M Commerce is a public college with a fairly large student population.

About 25% of the students majoring in physics at the school are women while 75% are male.

Lubbock, TX

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Texas Tech University. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Physics Master’s Degree Schools in the Southwest Region list. Texas Tech is a very large public school located in the large city of Lubbock.

Out of the 26 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Baylor University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Baylor is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Waco.

Rice University did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for physics students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #6 on the list. Rice is a medium-sized private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Houston.
