Tallahassee, FL

The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at Florida State University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular physics schools in the Southeast Region . Florida State is a very large public school located in the medium-sized city of Tallahassee.

Women make up 28% of the physics majors at the school.

The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at Louisiana State University and Agricultural & Mechanical College helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular physics schools in the Southeast Region . Located in the medium-sized city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana State University is a public college with a very large student population.

About 24% of the students majoring in physics at the school are women while 76% are male.

Out of the 42 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus landed the # 3 spot on the list. Georgia Tech is a very large public school located in the large city of Atlanta.

Of the 17 students majoring in physics at Georgia Tech, 76% are male and 24% are female.

About 21% of the students majoring in physics at the school are women while 79% are male.

With a ranking of #7, The University of Tennessee - Knoxville did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for physics students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the medium-sized city of Knoxville, UT Knoxville is a public school with a fairly large student population.

University of Virginia - Main Campus landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular doctor’s degree physics programs. University of Virginia is a very large public school located in the small suburb of Charlottesville.
