Our 2023 rankings named Wake Forest University the best school in the Southeast Region for physics students. Located in the medium-sized city of Winston-Salem, Wake Forest University is a private not-for-profit college with a medium-sized student population.

Virginia Tech did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best schools for physics students. It came in at #6 on the list. Virginia Tech is a very large public school located in the small city of Blacksburg.
North Carolina State University landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best physics programs. Located in the city of Raleigh, NC State is a public college with a very large student population.
West Virginia University came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Physics Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. WVU is a fairly large public school located in the city of Morgantown.
Georgia Institute of Technology - Main Campus ranked #9 on this year’s Best Physics Schools in the Southeast Region list. Georgia Tech is a very large public school located in the city of Atlanta.
East Carolina University ranked #10 on this year’s Best Physics Schools in the Southeast Region list. ECU is a very large public school located in the city of Greenville.
