About 40% of the students majoring in materials science at the school are women while 60% are male.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of California - Santa Barbara is a great place for materials sciences students working on their doctor’s degree. UCSB is a very large public school located in the midsize suburb of Santa Barbara.

Of the 18 students majoring in materials science at UCSB, 56% are male and 44% are female.
