Our 2023 rankings named Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School the most popular school in the Great Lakes Region for law students working on their doctor’s degree. WMU-Cooley Law School is a fairly small private not-for-profit school located in the medium-sized city of Lansing.

About 61% of the students majoring in law at the school are women while 39% are male.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Michigan - Ann Arbor is a great place for law students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the midsize city of Ann Arbor, U-M is a public college with a fairly large student population.
