This report analyzed 65 schools in the Southwest Region to see which ones were the most popular programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Nursing program at each school on the list.

Top 10 Most Popular Nursing Schools
Our 2023 rankings named Grand Canyon University the most popular school in the Southwest Region for nursing students. Located in the city of Phoenix, Grand Canyon University is a private for-profit school with a fairly large student population.
You’ll join some of the best and brightest minds around you if you attend The University of Texas at Arlington. The school came in at #2 on this year’s Most Popular Nursing Schools in the Southwest Region list. UT Arlington is a very large public school located in the city of Arlington.
A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Aspen University is a great place for nursing students. Aspen University is a moderately-sized private for-profit school located in the large city of Denver.
Out of the 65 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Phoenix - Arizona landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the large city of Tempe, UOPX - Arizona is a private for-profit college with a fairly large student population.
Out of the 65 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Arizona landed the # 5 spot on the list. Located in the city of Tucson, University of Arizona is a public school with a fairly large student population.
The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Nursing Schools in the Southwest Region ranking. UTHealth is a moderately-sized public school located in the city of Houston.
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular schools for nursing students. It came in at #7 on the list. TTUHSC is a moderately-sized public school located in the large city of Lubbock.
The University of Texas Medical Branch landed the #8 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular nursing programs. UTMB Galveston is a small public school located in the town of Galveston.
Texas Woman’s University landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular nursing programs. Located in the medium-sized city of Denton, TWU is a public college with a fairly large student population.
The University of Texas at El Paso did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular schools for nursing students. It came in at #10 on the list. UTEP is a fairly large public school located in the large city of El Paso.
