Our 2023 rankings named Albany Medical College the best school in the Middle Atlantic Region for nursing students. AMC Albany is a small private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Albany.
A rank of #2 on this year’s list means Saint Vincent College is a great place for nursing students. Located in the suburb of Latrobe, Saint Vincent is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population.
You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University of Pennsylvania. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Best Nursing Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region list. UPenn is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Philadelphia.

Thomas Jefferson University landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best nursing programs. Located in the large city of Philadelphia, Thomas Jefferson University is a private not-for-profit school with a medium-sized student population.
Gannon University landed the #7 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best nursing programs. Located in the city of Erie, Gannon is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population.
Chatham University came in at #8 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. Chatham is a small private not-for-profit school located in the city of Pittsburgh.
Georgetown University landed the #9 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best nursing programs. Located in the city of Washington, Georgetown is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.
York College of Pennsylvania did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best schools for nursing students. It came in at #10 on the list. YCP is a small private not-for-profit school located in the midsize suburb of York.
With a ranking of #11, University of Pittsburgh - Pittsburgh Campus did quite well on this year’s best schools for nursing students. Pitt is a fairly large public school located in the city of Pittsburgh.

The College of New Jersey came in at #12 in this year’s edition of the Best Nursing Schools in the Middle Atlantic Region ranking. TCNJ is a moderately-sized public school located in the suburb of Ewing.
New York University landed the #13 spot in the 2023 rankings for the best nursing programs. NYU is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of New York.
With a ranking of #14, Johns Hopkins University did quite well on this year’s best schools for nursing students. Located in the city of Baltimore, Johns Hopkins is a private not-for-profit college with a very large student population.
