You can choose a traditional brick and mortar school, or with the growth of online education, you can attend a school half-way across the country without even leaving your house. Also there are many trade schools that offer short-term programs that open up more career options.
To assist you in seeing some of the education options that are available to you, Grad Degree Search has created its Most Popular Engineering Schools in the New England Region ranking. This report analyzed 29 schools in the New England Region to see which ones were the most popular programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

Top 10 Most Popular Engineering Schools
Our 2023 rankings named Northeastern University the most popular school in the New England Region for engineering students. Located in the large city of Boston, Northeastern is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.
Out of the 29 schools in the New England Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Massachusetts Institute of Technology landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the medium-sized city of Cambridge, MIT is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

The excellent programs at Worcester Polytechnic Institute helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the best engineering schools in the New England Region . A rank of #4 on this year’s list means Boston University is a great place for engineering students. Boston U is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Boston.

University of New Haven ranked #9 on this year’s Most Popular Engineering Schools in the New England Region list. University of New Haven is a moderately-sized private not-for-profit school located in the suburb of West Haven.
University of Massachusetts Amherst came in at #10 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Engineering Schools in the New England Region ranking. UMass Amherst is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of Amherst.
