This report analyzed 27 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which ones were the most popular graduate certificate programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

The colleges and universities below are the most popular for engineering majors pursuing a graduate certificate.

Our 2023 rankings named Stevens Institute of Technology the most popular school in the Middle Atlantic Region for engineering students working on their graduate certificate. Located in the suburb of Hoboken, Stevens is a private not-for-profit college with a medium-sized student population.

Of the 219 students majoring in engineering at Stevens, 75% are male and 25% are female.

The in-demand graduate certificate programs at Columbia University in the City of New York helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the Middle Atlantic Region . Located in the large city of New York, Columbia is a private not-for-profit college with a very large student population.

Of the 101 students majoring in engineering at Columbia, 74% are male and 26% are female.

Out of the 27 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Maryland - College Park landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the large suburb of College Park, UMCP is a public college with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 15% of the engineering majors at the school.

Potsdam, NY

Out of the 27 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Clarkson University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the remote town of Potsdam, Clarkson is a private not-for-profit school with a small student population.

Of the 38 students majoring in engineering at Clarkson, 71% are male and 29% are female.
