Salt Lake City, UT

Out of the 14 schools in the Rocky Mountains Region that were part of this year’s ranking, University of Utah landed the # 2 spot on the list. U of U is a fairly large public school located in the city of Salt Lake City.

Of the 81 students majoring in engineering at U of U, 73% are male and 27% are female.

The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at Colorado School of Mines helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the Rocky Mountains Region . Located in the suburb of Golden, Mines is a public college with a moderately-sized student population.

About 26% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 74% are male.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Colorado State University - Fort Collins. It ranked #4 on our 2023 Most Popular Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in the Rocky Mountains Region list. University of Idaho landed the #6 spot in the 2023 rankings for the most popular doctor’s degree engineering programs. U of I is a large public school located in the distant town of Moscow.

Women make up 35% of the engineering majors at the school.

With a ranking of #6, Utah State University did quite well on this year’s most popular schools for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the small city of Logan, USU is a public school with a very large student population.

About 20% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 80% are male.
