Our analysis found Massachusetts Institute of Technology to be the most popular school for engineering students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in the New England Region . Located in the city of Cambridge, MIT is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

Of the 244 students majoring in engineering at MIT, 73% are male and 27% are female.

Out of the 18 schools in the New England Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Northeastern University landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the city of Boston, Northeastern is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.

Of the 98 students majoring in engineering at Northeastern, 83% are male and 17% are female.

The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at University of Connecticut helped the school earn the #3 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the New England Region . UCONN is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of Storrs.

About 35% of the students majoring in engineering at the school are women while 65% are male.

Out of the 18 schools in the New England Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Boston University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Boston U is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Boston.

Of the 58 students majoring in engineering at Boston U, 64% are male and 36% are female.

The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at University of Massachusetts Amherst helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering schools in the New England Region . UMass Amherst is a very large public school located in the suburb of Amherst.
