Our 2023 rankings named Cornell University the most popular school in New York for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the small city of Ithaca, Cornell is a private not-for-profit school with a very large student population.

Of the 118 students majoring in engineering at Cornell, 67% are male and 33% are female.

Out of the 20 schools in New York that were part of this year’s ranking, Columbia University in the City of New York landed the # 2 spot on the list. Columbia is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of New York.

Of the 87 students majoring in engineering at Columbia, 83% are male and 17% are female.

Buffalo, NY

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend University at Buffalo. It ranked #3 on our 2023 Most Popular Engineering Doctor’s Degree Schools in New York list. University at Buffalo is a fairly large public school located in the large suburb of Buffalo.

Of the 69 students majoring in engineering at University at Buffalo, 75% are male and 25% are female.
