This report analyzed 43 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region to see which ones were the most popular doctor's degree programs for students. To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Engineering program at each school on the list.

Pittsburgh, PA

Our analysis found Carnegie Mellon University to be the most popular school for engineering students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in the Middle Atlantic Region . Located in the city of Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.

Of the 144 students majoring in engineering at Carnegie Mellon, 73% are male and 27% are female.

A rank of #2 on this year’s list means University of Maryland - College Park is a great place for engineering students working on their doctor’s degree. Located in the suburb of College Park, UMCP is a public college with a very large student population.

Of the 132 students majoring in engineering at UMCP, 70% are male and 30% are female.

Out of the 43 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Cornell University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Cornell is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Ithaca.

Of the 118 students majoring in engineering at Cornell, 67% are male and 33% are female.

Baltimore, MD

Out of the 43 schools in the Middle Atlantic Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Johns Hopkins University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the city of Baltimore, Johns Hopkins is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 34% of the engineering majors at the school.
