Our 2023 rankings named Northeastern University the most popular school in the New England Region for mechanical engineering students working on their master’s degree. Northeastern is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Boston.

Of the 127 students majoring in ME at Northeastern, 81% are male and 19% are female.

You’ll be in good company if you decide to attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It ranked #2 on our 2023 Most Popular Mechanical Engineering Master’s Degree Schools in the New England Region list. MIT is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the medium-sized city of Cambridge.

WPI is a moderately-sized private not-for-profit school located in the midsize city of Worcester.

Out of the 22 schools in the New England Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Boston University landed the # 4 spot on the list. Located in the large city of Boston, Boston U is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 38% of the ME majors at the school.
