Our analysis found Massachusetts Institute of Technology to be the most popular school for mechanical engineering students who want to pursue a doctor’s degree in the New England Region . MIT is a large private not-for-profit school located in the midsize city of Cambridge.

Of the 45 students majoring in ME at MIT, 73% are male and 27% are female.

The in-demand doctor’s degree programs at Northeastern University helped the school earn the #2 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular mechanical engineering schools in the New England Region . Northeastern is a very large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Boston.

Of the 10 students majoring in ME at Northeastern, 90% are male and 10% are female.

Boston, MA

Out of the 13 schools in the New England Region that were part of this year’s ranking, Boston University landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the large city of Boston, Boston U is a private not-for-profit school with a fairly large student population.
