Our 2023 rankings named Cornell University the most popular school in the United States for engineering physics students working on their master’s degree. Cornell is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Ithaca.

Of the 19 students majoring in engineering physics at Cornell, 84% are male and 16% are female.

Out of the 23 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Columbia University in the City of New York landed the # 2 spot on the list. Located in the large city of New York, Columbia is a private not-for-profit college with a fairly large student population.

Women make up 18% of the engineering physics majors at the school.

Out of the 23 schools in the United States that were part of this year’s ranking, Air Force Institute of Technology - Graduate School of Engineering & Management landed the # 3 spot on the list. Located in the large suburb of Wright-Patterson AFB, AFIT Graduate School of Engineering & Management is a public school with a small student population.

About 6% of the students majoring in engineering physics at the school are women while 94% are male.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means Yale University is a great place for engineering physics students working on their master’s degree. Yale is a large private not-for-profit school located in the city of New Haven.

The in-demand master’s degree programs at Harvard University helped the school earn the #5 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular engineering physics schools in the United States. Harvard is a fairly large private not-for-profit school located in the city of Cambridge.

Of the 12 students majoring in engineering physics at Harvard, 58% are male and 42% are female.

University of California - San Diego ranked #6 on this year’s Most Popular Engineering Physics Master’s Degree Schools list. Located in the large city of La Jolla, UCSD is a public school with a fairly large student population.

California Institute of Technology came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Engineering Physics Master’s Degree Schools ranking. Located in the midsize city of Pasadena, Caltech is a private not-for-profit college with a small student population.
