Our 2023 rankings named Texas Christian University the best school in the Southwest Region for special education students. Located in the large city of Fort Worth, TCU is a private not-for-profit college with a large student population.

Out of the 44 schools in the Southwest Region that were part of this year’s ranking, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley landed the # 5 spot on the list. UT Rio Grande Valley is a very large public school located in the medium-sized city of Edinburg.
Arizona State University - Skysong did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best schools for special education students. It came in at #6 on the list. ASU - Skysong is a very large public school located in the city of Scottsdale.
With a ranking of #7, University of St. Thomas did quite well on this year’s best schools for special education students. UST is a small private not-for-profit school located in the large city of Houston.
MSU Texas did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best schools for special education students. It came in at #8 on the list. MSU Texas is a moderately-sized public school located in the midsize city of Wichita Falls.
University of North Texas did quite well in this year’s ranking of the best schools for special education students. It came in at #9 on the list. Located in the medium-sized city of Denton, UNT is a public college with a very large student population.
With a ranking of #10, Lamar University did quite well on this year’s best schools for special education students. Lamar University is a fairly large public school located in the medium-sized city of Beaumont.
