To create this ranking we looked at how many students graduated from the Biotechnology program at each school on the list.

Our 2023 rankings named University of Alabama at Birmingham the most popular school in the Southeast Region for biotechnology students working on their master’s degree. Located in the city of Birmingham, UAB is a public school with a very large student population.

Of the 44 students majoring in biotech at UAB, 43% are male and 57% are female.

Out of the 12 schools in the Southeast Region that were part of this year’s ranking, North Carolina State University landed the # 2 spot on the list. NC State is a fairly large public school located in the city of Raleigh.

Women make up 55% of the biotech majors at the school.

A rank of #3 on this year’s list means University of South Florida - Main Campus is a great place for biotechnology students working on their master’s degree. USF Tampa is a very large public school located in the city of Tampa.

Of the 10 students majoring in biotech at USF Tampa, 30% are male and 70% are female.

The in-demand master’s degree programs at West Virginia State University helped the school earn the #4 place on this year’s ranking of the most popular biotechnology schools in the Southeast Region . Located in the medium-sized suburb of Institute, WVSU is a public school with a small student population.

Women make up 63% of the biotech majors at the school.

A rank of #5 on this year’s list means University of Central Florida is a great place for biotechnology students working on their master’s degree. Located in the large suburb of Orlando, UCF is a public college with a fairly large student population.

About 71% of the students majoring in biotech at the school are women while 29% are male.

Florida Institute of Technology did quite well in this year’s ranking of the most popular places for biotechnology students to get a master’s degree. It came in at #6 on the list. Florida Tech is a moderately-sized private not-for-profit school located in the small city of Melbourne.

About 50% of the students majoring in biotech at the school are women while 50% are male.

Athens, GA

University of Georgia came in at #6 in this year’s edition of the Most Popular Biotechnology Master’s Degree Schools in the Southeast Region ranking. Located in the city of Athens, UGA is a public school with a very large student population.

Of the 6 students majoring in biotech at UGA, 67% are male and 33% are female.
